Cosmetic Dentist in Mill Creek Offers New Procedure at Penny Creek Family and Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Chad Slocum and Dr. Sara Lundgaard, Mill Creek cosmetic dentists, invites patients to utilize the availability of Botox at Penny Creek Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

2013-05-22
MILL CREEK, WA, May 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) At Penny Creek Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Chad Slocum and Dr. Sara Lundgaard, cosmetic dentists in Mill Creek, is excited to offer their patients Botox treatments. With Botox, Dr. Slocum and Dr. Lundgaard can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines and provide facial enhancement on people from 18 to 65 years of age.

Botox is the only treatment of its type that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is a simple, non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that requires only one 10-20 minute session. With a few tiny injections, patients can experience a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe lines within days. Results may vary, but typical results can last up to four months.

"At Penny Creek Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we pride ourselves in providing our patients with superior dental care in a relaxing environment. To add onto this exceptional experience, I am proud to offer Botox as another line of treatments for my patients. While they maintain their glowing smile, why not enhance the appearance of the skin on their face, as well? I encourage each of my patients to take advantage of this unique opportunity at their next visit," said Dr. Chad Slocum, Mill Creek cosmetic dentist.

Botox works to relax the contraction of muscles by blocking nerve impulses. The result is muscles that can no longer contract, relaxing and softening a person's wrinkles. Typically, it will take 10-14 days to see cosmetic improvement with results that can last anywhere from four to six months. Most patients require retreatment to remove wrinkles and lines as they begin to reappear, but Dr. Slocum and Dr. Lundgaard, family dentists in Mill Creek, inform patients that after each injection the wrinkles return as less severe as the muscles are trained to relax.

The procedure does not require anesthesia and usually takes just a few minutes to perform. The protein is injected into the muscle using a fine needle in order to minimize discomfort and maximize accuracy. Dr. Chad Slocum and Dr. Sara Lundgaard, dentists in Mill Creek, recommend that patients avoid alcohol for approximately a week before their Botox procedure. In order to minimize bruising, patients should also stop using aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications about two weeks before their treatment. Normal activities can be resumed immediately, but Dr. Slocum and Dr. Lundgaard may advise patients to stay out of the sun.

"A lifetime of emotions means your facial muscles have been put to the test, leading to wrinkles, crow's feet, and even laugh lines. With advancements in technology, I am excited to offer Botox to help enhance our patients facial esthetics," said Dr. Sara Lundgaard, Mill Creek, WA dentist.
