LONDON, ENGLAND, May 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. Aditi Desai has become a member of the I Hate CPAP Network - http://www.London.IHateCPAP.com - to provide an appliance alternative to CPAP for sleep and snoring suffers in London who can't tolerate CPAP or want a comfortable no-mask treatment option.

An estimated 40% of adult men and 24% of adult women suffer from habitual snoring, according to a report by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). In addition, the AADSM has found that 50% of snorers have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a dangerous, life-threatening disorder that affects nearly 20 million Americans. Furthermore, 75% of people with TMD/TMJ (temporomandibular disorder) have sleep apnea and 52% of sleep apnea sufferers have signs and symptoms of TMD.

Dr. Desai operates 76 Harley Street in London, England. She has a BDS, MSc in conservative dentistry with a special interest in dental sleep medicine, and is a Council member of the Odontological section at the Royal Society of Medicine. She has studied and researched extensively to help her patients solve, or at least minimize, their sleep apnea and snoring problems.

According to the AADSM, oral appliance therapy is better tolerated by patients and treatment compliance is estimated at 90-95%. "Oral appliances for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea offer patients a treatment option that is safe, effective and easy to use," according to the USA National Sleep Foundation.

Dr. Aditi Desai has the required training to Practice Dental Sleep Medicine in the UK and is on the Board of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine(BSDSM). She is a a member of the European Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (EADSM) and the American Association of Dental Sleep Medicine and holds an Honorary Research Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Sleep Disorders Unit at Guy's Hospital in London under the mentorship of Professor Adrian Williams.
