PEMBROKE PINES, FL, May 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Your age, your size, your gender. None of that matters when it comes to a healthy smile. You don't settle for just anything when it comes to your diet, your wardrobe or your car. So why settle for anything less than a perfect smile? At Lucas Orthodontics, a perfect, healthy smile is waiting for you.
Unlike most orthodontic practices where all patients are treated in one large clinical area, we treat each patient in their own semi-private suite. And not only that, where most orthodontic practices prefer that parents remain in the waiting area during their child's orthodontic appointments. Dr. Lucas welcomes Mom and Dad into the patient's clinical suite for each and every visit. Doing so assures parents of being well informed throughout the course of treatment.
Almost Like Roadwork
There are some of us out there - when we run our tongues over our teeth and gums - it feels like there's roadwork being performed inside our mouth. If there was ever a dead give-away for crooked teeth this is it. Fortunately it doesn't have to be this way. Lucas Orthodontics offers a variety of orthodontic treatments and during your complimentary first visit, he'll discuss the best options with you that will result in a beautiful, healthy smile!
Types of Braces
Thanks to today's advances in orthodontic technology, Lucas Orthodontics can provide patients with more options than ever before when it comes to wearing braces. While regular metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are becoming increasingly popular along with removable appliances that can be used for mild cases of misaligned teeth. To learn more about the types of braces we offer at our office, plan on speaking with Dr. Lucas to determine which appliance is right for you.
Invisible Braces
Clear appliances, such as Invisalign, use a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing those aligners because they are invisible! Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are smaller and more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have aesthetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger than metal braces. The only drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits with certain foods and smoking.

Kitchen Inspire Reveals Why Bakeware is so Important to Your Business
2013-05-27
If you manage a restaurant or catering company, you may have underestimated the importance of having bakeware available for your chef. Kitchen Inspire feels this is a common mistake and one which should be corrected: chefs need baking supplies even if they do not make pastries.

Roasted chickens, broiled vegetables, and a wide host of commonly served dishes require baking, and these dishes are best created in the proper baking pans and bakeware. Ensuring ...
