CLC Network Equips Teachers to Impact Academically Talented Students Nationwide

WYOMING, MI, May 30, 2013 (Press-News.org) This fall, CLC Network, a national non-profit that encourages people with varying abilities and disabilities to live as integrated members of their communities, will equip great teachers to reach academically talented middle school students through online learning.

The english and mathematics courses, aimed at schools seeking to expand their curriculum offerings and parents who home educate, are taught by master teachers who customize learning to fit individual student needs. The courses are "teacher led," a unique feature that allows students to work independently but within frameworks provided by their instructors, who are highly attentive to individual learning styles. Teachers set deadlines for unit completion and provide forums for discussion among students as they move together through the curriculum.

Gifted students who have been eager for academic challenges thrive under the personalized attention of these closely involved instructors who answer questions, offer feedback, and communicate regularly with families. All teachers are certified by the State of Michigan and experienced with online education.

"We firmly believe that academically talented students benefit from the support of excellent teachers," explained CLC Network Executive Director R.H. "Bear" Berends. "Through equipping our outstanding educators to extend their influence through online learning, we are able to educate students across the country!"

The six courses, available for schools and families nationwide, include: Honors English 6, Honors English 7, Honors English 8. Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. Course content aligns with State of Michigan standards, and the courses are available from a Christian or secular perspective. Courses are taught through Moodle, a safe and secure online platform commonly used by middle and high schools.
