Easley Sam's Club Hosts Football Legend George Rogers

1980 University of South Carolina Heisman Trophy winner to sign free autographs on June 29 at the new Easley Sam's Club

EASLEY, SC, June 05, 2013 (Press-News.org) Sam's Club and General Mills have announced that they will host a Member Appreciation event at the new Easley Sam's Club on Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. As part of the day's celebration, University of South Carolina's Legendary Running Back George Rogers will meet with fans and sign free autographs at Sam's Club, 309 Rolling Hills Circle.

Recognized as the "greatest player ever at the University of South Carolina," Rogers won the Heisman Trophy in 1980. He was the first overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft and played professionally for the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins of the NFL. As a pro, Rogers rushed for more than 7,000 yards, was selected for two Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl XXII with the Redskins. The University renamed the road that runs along the north end of Williams-Brice Stadium in his honor and is now known as George Rogers Boulevard.

"We encourage fans to join us for a fun and exciting day," said Brandon Cox, Club manager of the Easley location. "This event is our way of thanking the community for their patronage of our numerous clubs in the area. We are excited and look forward to seeing all the smiling faces of Easley and surrounding communities, as we welcome University of South Carolina Gamecocks' legend George Rogers to our new location."

Sam's Club will officially open its newest location in Easley on Thursday, June 27.

Sam's Club members and guests are welcomed and encouraged to visit the Easley location at any time throughout the day. Autographs are limited to one per person and are only guaranteed for the first 120 people in line, but he will sign more if time allows.
