Canadian Arts Educator to be Keynote Speaker at Arts Tennessee Conference

Toronto-based arts and leadership educator, Lisa Phillips, has been chosen as the keynote speaker at the CREATE Creativity in Education Institute next month in Tennessee.

TORONTO, CANADA, June 12, 2013 (Press-News.org) Phillips will be addressing the audience about the power arts education brings to the lives of today's children.

In her book, The Artistic Edge: 7 Skills Children Need to Succeed in an Increasingly Right Brain World, Phillips discusses the impact arts education has on the success of the current generation, and why the arts should be an essential learning tool within every educational system. The Artistic Edge is also a blog and online resource for arts educators and parents to acquire the necessary information on how to help children become the leaders they were meant to be. The job market is tough these days, and The Artistic Edge shows how arts educator can give any child the skills to rise above the rest when it comes time to land a career.

The CREATE Creativity in Education Institute runs from July 9-12, 2013 at the Middle Tennessee State University. The purpose of this conference is to address the needs of classroom teachers in effectively integrating the arts in school curriculums.
