Local Grocer Participated In Race For The Cure Event On June 8 To Help In The Fight Against Breast Cancer
RALEIGH, NC, June 13, 2013
The Kroger Co., (http://www.kroger.com/), the nation's largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle, has announced that it served as a platinum sponsor and had approximately 50 employees participate in the 2013 NC Triangle Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, an annual event celebrating survivorship, honoring those who have lost their battle, and raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The event took place Saturday, June 8 at Meredith College at 3800 Hillsborough St. It began at 7 a.m. and featured a Competitive Open co-ed 5K, the Women's Only 5K, a Recreational Open Run/Walk co-ed 5K, a One-Mile Fun Run, and a Kids Dash for children between the ages of 3 and 5. The event concluded with a Survivor Tribute at 10:30 a.m. in honor of all breast cancer survivors.QUOTES:
