BestHomeSecurityCompanys.com Helps Protect a Survivor Family

Besthomesecuritycompanys.com, the leader in home security reviews, teams up to help protect a family that lost a husband and father while he was serving in the Army.

2013-06-19
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) Besthomesecuritycompanys.com worked with Protect America to provide a free security system to the Byrd family. The Byrd's lost their loving husband and father, Jordan Byrd, in 2010 while he was serving in Afghanistan. He passed away just one month after his deployment.

Savanna Byrd, 23, sent her husband off to war just four days after giving birth to their son Ayden in September 2010. After just a few short weeks, Savanna received a phone call telling her that two soldiers were standing outside of her house. When she arrived home, Savanna received the devastating news that her husband had been killed.

"When I came home, I immediately knew," Savanna Byrd said. "I fell to the ground and they had to carry me into the house. I couldn't believe it."

On October 13, Jordan had gone on a routine foot patrol when they fell under attack at the Pakistan border. One of the fellow soldiers was hit in the leg, and in effort to save the soldier, Jordan courageously ran out to help. While trying to aid the ailing soldier, Jordan was shot and killed.

Jordan's death left Savanna with the sole responsibility of providing for and raising their two-year-old son. As a working mother, Savanna found it difficult to find the time to look for a security system to protect their home.

Besthomesecuritycompanys.com contacted Protect America about the "Operation Restoring Safety" project. Protect America decided to give back by donating a security system to the Byrd family to help ensure their home's safety. The Byrd's received the platinum security system package, which included three years of free monitoring.

"I was really excited, I don't know how many times I have said that I wanted a security system," Savanna said. "I have [wanted] to look into [getting a system] for a long time, but I just never have. I have been busy with work and Ayden. It's just hard to even take five minutes to do it."

Now, Savanna and Ayden can rest assured that their home will be protected against potential dangers.

"I am really grateful for Protect America for donating what they can and doing what they can for my family," Savanna said.

The Colorado legislature spent part of the 2013 session creating laws on how to legally purchase and sell legal amounts of marijuana.* As far as many lawmakers were concerned, creating laws for the legal transfer of marijuana between parties was just one of the public issues that Amendment 64 created.
