CHARLESTON, SC, June 19, 2013 (Press-News.org) Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina spoke to students at Cane Bay High School in Summerville, SC on Wednesday March 13th 2013. Cane Bay High School is part of the Berkeley County school system and is its newest high school. This was the second time that Attorney Evan Guthrie was able to visit Cane Bay after visiting the school in October of 2012 for their career day. The purpose of Mr. Guthrie's appearance was to allow students that were interested in possibly pursuing a legal career a chance to ask questions. There were several announcements over the school's intercom system alerting students about the event as well as the electronic information board in the main hallway of the school. Attorney Guthrie was positioned in the Cane Bay media center and was made available to students during their lunch period. Each lunch period lasted about a half hour in duration before a new lunch period began and a new group of students moved through the school. Mr. Guthrie remained in the media center for three different lunch periods to talk to students and answer their questions. Attorney Guthrie was joined at the presentation by his law clerk Kimaya Brown, a student at Charleston Southern University. Kimaya, a graduating college senior at her school, made an appearance at the event during her school's spring break. Miss Brown was available to answer questions about college and how a college student could prepare for law school and a career as a lawyer. Mr. Guthrie is appreciative of his clerks donating their time to make appearances at schools.
Mr. Guthrie enjoyed his visit to Cane Bay High School and the chance to inspire students to consider a career in the legal profession. Attorney Guthrie visits many schools in the Charleston, SC area each year to do his part to give back to the community by sharing his knowledge. Mr, Guthrie looks forward to returning to Cane Bay in future years to speak and help students.
