Capital Sign Solutions Announces Completion of Turnkey Signage Solution for Extra Space Storage

Raleigh signage company overcomes permitting and ordinance issues to deliver total branding package

2013-06-21
RALEIGH, NC, June 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) Capital Sign Solutions has added another satisfied client to its growing portfolio with the completion of a turnkey signage project for Extra Space Storage. The signage company provided technical surveys, created the sign criteria, performed site inspections, acquired permitting, and provided design, fabrication, and installation services. Extra Space Storage is located at 2220 Capital Boulevard in Raleigh.

Extra Space Storage co-owner, Bill Theus, worked directly with the Capital Sign Solutions' team, as well as company Vice President of Sales Lanier Riddick. Theus says that although there were a number of issues that had to be dealt with during the course of the project, the process was made easy for an "absentee owner".

"I wasn't able to be there for a majority of the project, but I knew our project was in good hands with Lanier and Capital Sign Solutions," says Theus. "I had total confidence in Lanier and his team and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. The entire development had a lot of moving parts, but I never had cause to worry. They did a great job."

Capital Sign Solutions provided several signs for Extra Space Storage that included two internally-lit building signs, one high-profile ground sign with tri-color LED board, a retro neon sign, interior signage, and temporary banners.

"Extra Space Storage is unique in that they also provide climate-controlled wine storage," said Riddick. "Bill wanted to create a sign that looked like a wine bottle that would be displayed inside the window in order to promote this service. Making neon signage is a bit of a dying art in the sign world, so it's great when we get the opportunity to do this. The end result is a vintage-style sign that is unique, fun, and really attracts attention."

Riddick says that a lot of projects they take on typically come with their own set of pre-existing challenges. Extra Space Storage was no exception.

"There was existing signage on the property that had not been permitted," explained Riddick. "We had to work with the City of Raleigh to first establish suite numbers for the building before we could even proceed with acquiring new signage permits. After we tackled that, the job proceeded very smoothly. We really enjoyed working with Bill and are delighted that he was satisfied with our service and overall quality of his signage."
