Australian Singer Katja Glieson To Release Her First Single "Peek A Boo" July 16th

The music video, which was previously screened at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival 2013, will follow with a release on July 23.

2013-06-27
LOS ANGELES, CA, June 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Having the charm and sophistication of Grace Kelly, with the style and charisma of a young Janet Jackson- Katja Glieson- the first Australian pop princess is on the brink of making her breakthrough in the United States.

The highly anticipated single is expected to release this summer. Her single "Peek A Boo" explores the taboo, yet tantalizing topic of voyeurism. The catchy, pop melody and potentially controversial lyrics strike a chord that not even Katy Perry hit when she did 'I Kissed a Girl.'

"I feel like I was a sheltered conservative girl next door- the funny fat friend- indeed that's what I was. I consoled everyone, made them feel good, served them and sacrificed all of my own needs and desires. The people from my past still expect this of me. Expect me to give them all of my attention and make them feel good," said Glieson about the inspiration behind her new hit single.

"Peek A Boo" is a song in which Glieson explores life outside her sheltered conservative girl next-door life. However, the song also touches on the innocence and purity of being curious about the sexual, adult world.

The music video for "Peek A Boo" was nominated for "Best Music Video" at the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival 2013, and won the "Wild Ace Award" at the 2013 Las Vegas Film Festival.

Before signing with Royal Slave Records, Katja Glieson humble beginnings consisted of growing up in a low-income working class conservative family, along with her three older siblings, in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Her father, a shed builder, and her mother a stay at home mom and hospital volunteer.

During her childhood, Katja endured consistent bullying from her peers due to being overweight. Now a devoted vegan, Katja is determined to bring awareness to the childhood obesity epidemic and promote healthy living through her new-found fame.

Through her occurrences Katja has developed wisdom well beyond her years and often speaks out about her experiences on bullying. Katja envisions living her passion- her dream of entertaining and performing her music- as a way of connecting with people to make a difference in their lives through her lyrics.

Bringing the message that no matter what you've done or what has been done to you, you still get to create your dreams and be loved, making allusion to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Katja is excited as she is currently gearing up to go on a worldwide promotional tour, including a school tour throughout the United States.
