PHOENIX, AZ, November 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) Author and owner of Irion Books LLC, Charles G. Irion, will be featured at three events during this month, November 6, 13 and 20. Irion will be showcased for his mountain climbing knowledge, writing accomplishments, and philanthropy. "This is an exhilarating month with three exciting events." Irion said.
As a climber and author of the Summit Murder Mystery Series, Irion was personally invited to attend the Seven Summits 25th Anniversary Celebration hosted by The American Alpine Club (AAC). The event commemorates the Silver Anniversary of Dick Bass and Dave Breashears completing a three-year quest to climb the highest point on all Seven Continents. Chairman of the New York Section of AAC, Philip Erard, asked Irion join the dinner gala and present Irion Book's Seven Summits video on Nov. 13.
The annual black tie event is being held at the landmark Union Club in New York City. The Union Club is one of the oldest private clubs in the United States and has an impressive list of prominent members -- both former and current.
Irion will kick off the month on Nov. 6 with the Local Writers Day showcasing Arizona authors. The Civic Center Library in Scottsdale, AZ will host the event on Saturday Nov. 6 from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm. The day will include book signings, workshops, discussions and the opportunity for networking between authors and readers. During the morning, Irion will be in attendance to discuss writing and book publishing.
Local Writers Day is meant to inspire and hone the skills of authors as well as showcase the Arizona Author Collection to Arizona readers. "This is a great event for authors and readers alike," Irion said. "Fans will get one-on-one time and be able to ask their favorite local authors questions regarding their books."
The final November event is the K2 Adventures Foundation First Annual Masquerade Ball on Nov. 20 in Scottsdale, AZ. This fundraiser benefits a variety of organizations including Hacienda Healthcare, The Mwereni Integrated School for the Blind, and the Arizona Humane Society. One lucky silent auction winner will enjoy lunch with the Summit Murder Mystery Series authors and receive copies of all seven Series novels. Irion Books is pleased to be an event sponsor.
