ATLANTA, GA,November 10, 2010 (Press-News.org) Craftmark Solid Surfaces, Inc., added two Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines to its Atlanta countertops manufacturing center. The CNC machine has allowed Craftmark Solid Surfaces to increase and improve their production of high quality Atlanta granite countertops, quartz countertops, and solid surface countertops.
A CNC machine is controlled by a computer and programmed using CAD or CAM software. The CNC machine cuts along the mathematically defined coordinates set in the computer program with perfect precision and accuracy, allowing it to produce smooth, straight lines or exact curves and circles. The CNC is used in almost every branch of the manufacturing industry, and cut through almost any material, including wood, plastic, metal, and stone.
Atlanta countertops manufacturer Craftmark Solid Surfaces uses the CNC machines to produce all of their countertops. A computer program directs the CNC router to cut the shape of the countertop, cut out holes for the sink and faucet, and apply edge profiles to each countertop. Because the process is fully automated, the CNC is able to craft each product with perfect consistency, eliminating human error and reducing the amount of time required for the production of Atlanta quartz countertops, granite countertops, and solid surface countertops.
Melinda Pulliam, Director of Marketing for Craftmark Solid Surfaces, explains, "The CNC router can cut edges exactly to specification, with no wavy lines or rough spots. By using a CNC machine, we are able to ensure that all of our Atlanta granite countertops and other products are of the absolute highest quality."
By including the two additional CNC machines in their manufacturing center, Craftmark Solid Surfaces has been able to increase production rates significantly to respond to a greater level of demand for quality Atlanta countertops.
