Straighten Out Your Oral Health With Dental Braces In Colorado Springs

Dr. Scott Suter, Colorado Springs orthodontist, reveals how straighter teeth will improve your oral health!

2014-02-21
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, February 21, 2014 (Press-News.org) Do you know what malocclusion is? The term "malocclusion" refers to a number of conditions, such as, upper protrusion, spacing or crowding problems and irregular bite. To fix misaligned teeth or an improper bite, orthodontic treatment is in order. At Suter Orthodontics, Dr. Scott Suter offers an array of orthodontic devices in Colorado Springs: invisible braces, traditional metal braces, ceramic braces (tooth colored), palatal expanders, space maintainers, and invisible retainers.

While the orthodontic devices may differ, there is one thing that remains the same-- an orthodontic device straightens your teeth, improving your overall oral health.

Depending on the bite problem (overbite, underbite, crossbite and open bite), you could be putting too much pressure on certain teeth. With enough added stress, you can wear down your teeth. Once an irregular bite is corrected, it will be easier to chew, speak and bite down without negatively affecting your teeth.

If you have an alignment issue, such as spacing or crowding, it's difficult to properly remove plaque bacteria and food particles. If your floss and toothbrush can't reach certain areas of your teeth, you are leaving behind cavity-causing bacteria, which may end up breaking down tooth enamel and causing decay.

"If malocclusion is an issue, oral health might also turn into an issue. It's easier to take care of straight teeth. That 's one of the main reasons an orthodontist will recommend braces," explains Dr. Suter.

Once malocclusion is treated, it will be much easier to maneuver your toothbrush and floss over and between teeth, resulting in a cleaner and healthier mouth!

To schedule a complimentary exam with Dr. Suter and his staff for traditional, clear or invisible braces in Colorado Springs, call (719) 550-0222. Patients can also go to www.suterorthodontics.com to submit an online appointment form.

Please remember to specify your desired date and time, and one of Dr. Suter's staff will be in contact as soon as possible. Dr. Suter's dental chair is always available for new patients to see how easy and affordable orthodontic treatment can be with no down payment and convenient monthly payments.
