A New Level of Ease of Use in Media Asset Management

A novel approach to ease of use in Media Asset Management that brings forth a cutting-edge solution where speed and user orientation are maximized at the same time.

2014-02-28
VANCOUVER, BC, February 28, 2014 (Press-News.org) Onison Corporation is pleased to announce the release of a novel approach to ease of use in Media Asset Management. Extensive usability studies have brought forth a cutting-edge solution where speed and user orientation are maximized at the same time.

User Experience Studies
Onison's user experience studies have found that individuals typically prefer file manager style folder presentations for their assistance in orientation. However, in large folder structures, they are cumbersome and it can take a string of clicks to reach a target folder. On the other hand, many users prefer folder structures that are based on fold-out layers for their greater speed and single click action. Extensive tests have revealed that a combination of the two would retain the benefits of both in orientation and speed without burdening the user with additional complexities.

Cascading and Expandable Folder Structures
In ImageDirector's innovative folder management interface, sub-folders cascade solely by cursor movements for quick accessibility and the folder tree expands upon clicking for orientation. Under the new version of drag-and-drop folder management, administrative users can now also easily drag-and-drop entire folder hierarchies, delete or rename them while retaining the capabilities of managing rights and usage of individual files. This allows reorganizing of folder structures to be done with extreme ease and efficiency. As an option, folders can be arranged freely without alphabetical or numerical restrictions.

ImageDirector is the popular Digital Asset Management application service by Onison. It not only safeguards any file type, but also allows flexibility for sharing within a secure and scalable environment. The new folder management represents only one step toward an entirely novel approach to integrating local files with the power of web-based Media Asset Management. ImageDirector is developed on a "zero-footprint" concept and works with all browsers and devices.

For the full benefit of the administrative features in the new folder module, browsers should be equipped with Flash. Interested parties may experience these innovations at http://onison.imagedirector.net/onison/public/?swf=responsive
