The 4 Hundred and 20 Assassins: Green Mourning

Controversial new fantasy book's main characters represent the positive and negative aspects of marijuana use.

2014-03-01
KAPOLEI, HAWAII, March 01, 2014 (Press-News.org) Set a thousand years ago in the Middle East, this book follows the young soldier, Abdullah-Harazins, and the witch, Aziam, through vanishing deserts, up misty mountains on a quest to find the Garden of Earthly Delights and a prophet named Chim Chin Charu. Propelled by a map positioned on the center of Aziam's back, the couple (to use the term loosely) follows a series of clues on a wild-goose chase to find a fantastical place of both beauty and truth. However, a dark cloud hangs over their happiness; they are being trailed by one of the king's shadow guards, Azhi, the tracker, who is coming to murder them.

This is the story of how Abdullah found the Garden of Earthly Delights and came to be Emir Abdullah-Harazins. Join a much younger Abdullah-Harazins and the six other students of Charu on a magical journey as they train to become Zen masters. Whether they are surf jousting or standing one-legged like cranes on a log, The 4 Hundred and 20 Assassins: Green Mourning is a blend of historical fiction and fantasy but with a deeper subtext about marijuana, politics and the American drug culture. Hassan El Sabbah was a historical figure and entrepreneur of sorts using the assassin as a tool to gain political influence throughout the Middle East. This fictional look at Sabbah is both humorous and serious, comical yet philosophical.
