LOS ANGELES, CA, March 02, 2014 (Press-News.org) Drawing inspiration from campy sci- shows of the '60s and '70s, such as "Lost in Space," "Land of the Giants," "The Twilight Zone" and the horror lms of Dario Argento and George Romero, photographer Patrick McPheron has harmoniously combined these two beloved genres into his latest photography endeavor, "Invasion."
He's working on completing the project, which is described as a retrofuture universe made up of intriguing architecture, beautiful humans and exquisite aliens. Work began three years ago and the last 10 photos are currently being funded through a Kickstarter.com campaign, located at http://kck.st/MdG5uq. The goal is to raise $8,500, which will culminate with a book and a full-scale Los Angeles gallery show, tentatively slated for summer of 2014. Backers who pledge money will receive postcards, magnets, prints and even a chance to be in the series.
"I want clones, mad scientists, abductions, robots, aliens, and bombshells in space suits... it's what the doctor ordered," says McPheron.
About Patrick McPheron
Patrick's work has been seen in art shows hosted by various groups and galleries, including World of Wonder Gallery, Cactus Gallery, Bagavagabonds, Spiva Gallery, Heart On, and Magic Garage. His work has appeared in magazines such as ELLE, Sessions and Experience. Recently, his photo "home" was chosen as a finalist for Canon's "Project Imaginat10n."
