NABA, which has been providing assistive services for blind and visually impaired individuals since 1908, will be receiving the donation through the Inspiration Foundation Giving Triage .
Cleanlogic's Founder and CEO Isaac Shapiro's philanthropic efforts are the result of personal life experiences. "My mother Bea has been blind since she was 7-years-old," said Shapiro. "She dedicated her life to helping others affected with blindness and vision loss to live an independent life. Inspired by her drive and aspiration, my co-founder, Mike Ghesser and I have created the Inspiration Foundation ."
Cleanlogic's body washes and body lotions are the first in the industry to feature functional Braille right on the bottle, allowing visually impaired individuals the ability to easily identify their products by touch. "Another important function of the Braille is to raise awareness of the blind and visually impaired community," said Shapiro. "In the U.S. today, 70 percent of blind and visually impaired adults are unemployed. These individuals will be likely to gain highly skilled jobs through organizations like Inspiration Foundation and NABA."
Christopher T. Burke, Executive Director of Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany said,
"NABA is so grateful to both Cleanlogic and Price Chopper Supermarkets for supporting the programs and services offered by NABA for the blind and visually impaired.
