FlipSnack the Publishing Platform Announces the Addition of a Rich Media Editor This Week

This feature is expected to greatly expand the product range of use. The update targets mostly the business segment of the market, and here's how:

2014-03-05
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 05, 2014 (Press-News.org) This feature is expected to greatly expand the product range of use. The update targets mostly the business segment of the market, and here's how:

- The addition of shopping buttons with PayPal checkout or links to the official website gives potential clients the chance to start shopping right from the catalog
- brands can integrate their social presence in their online publications with social buttons for Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and many others
action buttons can be used for easier access to certain pages
- lead forms can help you lock part of a flipbook and collect information and data about your readers and increase conversion rates on leads that are qualified for your offers.
- the possibility to enrich a publication with music, videos (YouTube) or forms (e.g. pop-up subscription forms) make for a completely different and richer experience than the simple flipping books available until now.

Here's what the product manager, Ann Bob, has to say about this feature:

When we thought about adding new features, we wanted something more for our business clients. We know how important it is to deliver inspiring experiences across different online platforms, to expand brand appeal, boost page views; in a few words, to engage customers.

Now FlipSnack can do more for brands. With the new rich media editor, pdf catalogs, magazines or brochures will not only be transformed into beautiful flipping books, but into interactive publications, powered by the richness of digital media: video, audio, interactive buttons and images.

FlipSnack keeps things simple on the technical side, as all of the buttons are operated in a drag-n-drop fashion, so users don't have to learn anything new. As soon as a button is dropped into a flipping book, the user can set a tooltip for it, a desired URL, color and opacity.

The price of the Publisher membership, which includes this feature, is $144/year, $96/ 6 months, $72/ 3 months or $32/month. Some features are limited to the Premium users, but all users have access to the editor to test it for free.

FlipSnack is a part of a larger suite of apps developed by SnackTools.com, which includes other applications that create widgets and banner ads for blogs and websites.

HIE Solutions See Drop in Provider Satisfaction

2014-03-05
Overall provider satisfaction with HIE solutions has dropped an average of 8 percent since last year as provider demands have outpaced vendor delivery. This and other key findings were released in the latest KLAS report, entitled HIE 2014: Revisiting Great Expectations. "What is surprising is that despite the millions of dollars HIE vendors invested to add needed functionality, only about half of them are seeing their provider satisfaction scores improve," said report author Mark Allphin. "Payment reform and the future of accountable care continue to keep ...

States urged to reduce illegal blood alcohol concentration level to 0.05

2014-03-05
In Maricopa County and throughout the nation, drivers under the influence of alcohol pose a threat to themselves, passengers in their vehicle and other drivers on the road. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in every three deaths that occur as a consequence of a vehicle accident involves alcohol in some way. The NTSB's new recommendation To reduce the number of fatalities and accidents caused by drunk driving, every state in the U.S. defines driving with a blood alcohol content level at 0.08 or above as a crime with penalties varying ...

Medical malpractice basics in California

2014-03-05
According to study findings released earlier this year in the Journal of Patient Safety, medical errors are claimed to be the third leading cause of death in the United States. The type and circumstances of each case can vary greatly but the impact on patients and their families is always indelible. Sonoma County residents should take caution to understand the basics of medical malpractice in California to protect themselves and understand when it may be appropriate to take action. What qualifies as medical malpractice? From a legal standpoint, the lack of providing ...

Guest lacked authority to consent to home search in drug investigation

2014-03-05
Under the United States Constitution, evidence seized following an illegal entry into a home is inadmissible and should be suppressed from any criminal proceedings. A search that would otherwise be illegal may still be allowed, though, if the appropriate party consented to the search. However, what if the person providing the consent to search the home is a houseguest? The recent United States Court of Appeals case of U.S. v. Arreguin provides a discussion of this area of the law. A consent to search . . . from a houseguest Nine law enforcement officers, including ...

The Gillette injury in Minn. workers' compensation law

2014-03-05
Most Minnesotans are familiar with workers' compensation: a no-fault system under state law in which employers carry insurance coverage for employee work-related injury. This compensation is the exclusive remedy for work-related harm; normally an employee may not also sue the employer for damages for the same injury. While it sounds straightforward, sometimes the connection between work and an injury is not easily discernible. In those cases, it can be particularly crucial for an injured Minnesota worker to retain an experienced workers' comp attorney to assist with ...

Why would an improving economy lead to more divorces?

2014-03-05
A couple struggling with finances will often also struggle in their marriage. Without enough money to go around it's easy to disagree on which financial burdens take priority. It is, therefore, not surprising that numerous studies point to financial arguments as a leading predictor of divorce. In the current economic climate, many couples have experienced financial hardship. Although the unemployment rate has recently improved, no one views the current situation as an economic boom period. According to a recent article by CNN Money, job growth remained slow in early ...

Self-driving cars: The next big hurdle in auto accident law

2014-03-05
With news reporting that Self-Driving cars would be road-ready by 2020, it seems like the future is easily here. What has once science fiction and the imaginings of Batman writers is becoming a reality. Besides saving the government money and increasing road safety, the effects of a society that includes driverless vehicles are really hard to imagine. In the world of personal injury, of course, that is a problem. The State of Ohio reported a staggering 287,050 crashes in 2012, with almost 75,000 of them including some form of injury. But all of that might change ...

Car Accident Law: Texting a Driver in New Jersey

Car Accident Law: Texting a Driver in New Jersey
2014-03-05
By now the message is clear, texting while driving is an incredibly dangerous endeavor that leads to distracted driving and causes hundreds of accidents every year, some of which are tragically fatal. This point has been driven home through numerous, and sometimes frightening, stories and ads. In the last few years this tragic phenomenon has been addressed by state legislatures throughout the nation. New Jersey's legislature has specifically outlawed texting while driving, and one New Jersey court has taken this prohibition one step further by imposing liability on an individual ...
