NEW YORK, NY, March 06, 2014 (Press-News.org) Colm Horgan of Marketing on 6th, NYC Inc explores the habits of the most productive people in business as part of his research for his upcoming seminar on 'Outperforming the Competition'.
Entrepreneur and managing director Colm Horgan of Marketing on 6th, NYC Inc is reviewing the habits of the most productive people in business as he prepares for an upcoming seminar. Colm Horgan will be hosting the seminar at his firm's Manhattan offices, which is titled, 'Outperforming the Competition', early next month.
About Marketing on 6th
In order to prepare for the seminar, Colm Horgan of Marketing on 6th, NYC Inc has been researching into the habits that make people more productive and has highlighted three habits which he believes to be the most beneficial:
1. Learn to ignore irrelevant emails
Replying to emails is a task that is unavoidable, however writer Catherine Clifford at entrepreneur.com expresses how not all emails require a response. Learning to ignore emails isn't easy, but wasting time replying to emails that are irrelevant or not important isn't being at all productive. For those emails that do require a response, the time it takes to respond should not exceed one minute. Getting into the routine of filtering emails in order or importance will take time, but once mastered, more time will become available to focus on more important tasks.
2. Create a daily schedule
It's inevitable that the 'to-do' list will continue growing throughout the day, however it's essential not to get too distracted trying to handle more than one thing at once. By creating a daily schedule, with a specific amount of time allocated to each task will increase productivity. Monitor the tasks ahead and keep track of areas where time could be saved. Prioritize the list in order of importance, and check each item off once completed. Not only does this increase productivity, it provides a sense of achievement.
3. Sleep
This is probably the least obvious habit of someone productive but studies highlighting the connection between sleep and productivity date back to the 1880s (inc.com). People might think they can work through the night; but with tiredness comes mistakes and the quality of performance can deteriorate. It is more productive to get an extra few hours of sleep and return back to work feeling more refreshed, than working through the night producing low-quality work.
Colm Horgan agrees with these habits and claims that making small changes make all the difference. Colm Horgan hopes to enforce these policies into his workplace to drive productivity levels.
Marketing on 6th, NYC Inc is an outsourced sales and marketing firm based in Manhattan. Colm Horgan will be discussing these habits further at his upcoming seminar in March.
Marketing on 6th is an ambitious Direct Sales force that links Fortune 500 companies to their future consumers.
