Pro Art Gallery To Exhibit Exclusive Artworks By International Modern Artists

The 'Masters Art Exhibition' will feature exclusive and unique artworks

2014-03-06
DUBAI, UAE, March 06, 2014 (Press-News.org) Pro Art Gallery, the gallery that celebrates innovative cutting edge art from the Arab world and beyond, announced that it will be hosting an exhibition titled 'Masters Art Exhibition' from March 5th - 11th, 2014 at their gallery located at the Palm Strip Shopping Mall in Dubai. Pro Art Gallery will hold a special opening night for art lovers, connoisseurs and collectors on March 5th 2014 from 7:30 pm.

The 'Masters Art Exhibition' will feature exclusive and unique artworks by modern master artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Marc Chagall, Cesar, Andy Warhol, Dieogo Giacometti, Fernando Botero, Pierre Soulages to newer artists of today.

"The Masters Art Exhibition will be a treat for art lovers and collectors as we will display some rare master pieces, which will offer some insights into the history of various art movements from the late 19th century and the 20th century. We have some unique and exclusive artworks from very famous international artists, which can be viewed only for six days. We are confident this exhibition will attract a lot of art lovers from across the region," says Tatiana Faure, Owner and Founder of Pro Art Gallery.

Pro Art Gallery will place the spotlight on works that began in the late 1900s including stellar examples of post-impressionism by Henri Matisse, Suzanne Valadon, Francois Gall, Fernando Botero, Raoul Dufy... The exhibition will also focus on ideas that contributed to the development and rejection of later art movements such as cubism, surrealism, pop art to name some. Offering a typical cross-section of various oeuvre, the works on display span the arc from oil and acrylic paintings to lithographs, illustrations, engravings and aquatint.

The 20th-century Western paintings at the exhibition covers the heritage of painters like Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cezanne, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec all of whom were essential for the development of modern art. At the beginning of the 20th century Henri Matisse and several other young artists including the pre-cubist Georges Braque, Andre Derain, Raoul Dufy and Maurice de Vlaminck revolutionized the Paris art world with "wild", multi-colored, expressive, landscapes and figure paintings that the critics called Fauvism which was a key point in the development of modern painting.

Biographies:
Fernando Botero
He is a Colombian artist known for his paintings and sculptures of inflated human and animal shapes.
As a youth, Botero attended a school for matadors for several years, but his true interest was in art. While still a teenager, he began painting and was inspired by the pre-Columbian and Spanish. His own paintings were first exhibited in 1948, and two years later, in Bogotá, he had his first one-man show. While studying painting in Madrid in the early 1950s, he made his living by copying paintings housed in the Prado Museum--particularly those of his idols at the time, Francisco de Goyaand Diego Velázquez--and selling them to tourists. He spent much of the rest of the decade studying the art treasures of Paris and Florence.

Henri Matisse
He was a French painter and sculptor, and also one of the inventors of Cubism along with Pablo Picasso. Henri Matisse was eventually recognized as the leader of Les Fauves, or "The Wild Beasts," and like the group of painters, he emphasized the use of intense color as a vehicle for describing light and space, as well as for communicating the artist's emotional state.
Matisse is represented with an artwork, titled "Teeny". In 1929 Teeny married Pierre Matisse, the youngest son of Fauve artist Henri Matisse. They had three children: Jacqueline, Paul, and Peter. Throughout 1938, Henri Matisse made a series of portrait sketches of Alexina.

Juan Miro's

His paintings are organized against flat neutral backgrounds and are painted in a limited range of bright colours, especially blue, red, yellow, green, and black. Amorphous amoebic shapes alternate with sharply drawn lines, spots, and curlicues, all positioned on the canvas with seeming nonchalance. Miró later produced highly generalized, ethereal works in which his organic forms and figures are reduced to abstract spots, lines, and bursts of colours.
In 1973, Joan Miró began publishing his print work at Sala Gaspar in Barcelona, including the series of thirteen etchings Barcelona 1972-1973. The same year, he also worked on "Oda a Joan Miró" by Joan Brossa. Brossa brought to the project his visual poetry, while Joan Miró's contribution was to be in Brossa's words "a kind of parallel music," keeping both contents separate.

Marc Chagall

He was a Russian-born French painter and designer, distinguished for his surrealistic inventiveness. He is recognized as one of the most significant painters and graphic artists of the 20th century. His work treats subjects in a vein of humor and fantasy that draws deeply on the resources of the unconscious. Chagall's distinctive use of color and form is derived partly from Russian expressionism and was influenced decisively by French cubism.

Salvador Dali

He is among the most versatile and prolific artists of the 20th century. He successfully turned to sculpture, printmaking, fashion, advertising, writing, and, perhaps most famously, filmmaking in his collaborations with Luis Bunuel and Alfred Hitchcock. Dali was renowned for his flamboyant personality as much as for his undeniable technical virtuosity. In his early use of organic morphology, his work bears the stamp of fellow Spaniards Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró. His paintings also evince a fascination for Classical and Renaissance art, clearly visible through his hyper-realistic style and religious symbolism of his later work.
