MARCO ISLAND, FL, March 07, 2014 (Press-News.org) Professional actor, comedian, and poker player, Gabe Kaplan, known for his starring role in the hit sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter," will be performing at Marco Island's Off The Hook Comedy Club, March 20-23.
Kaplan dove into a career of stand up comedy in the early 70s, with multiple appearances on shows such as "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," and "Van Dyke in Company." Kaplan's most notable role was as Gabe Kotter, the starring role of ABC's "Welcome Back, Kotter." After the show's run, Kaplan took his acting to the big screen, starring in three feature films, "Fast Break," "Tulips," and "Nobody's Perfect."
While touring the country performing stand up comedy, Kaplan also gained fame as a professional poker player, winning multiple tournaments and serving as a commenter for programs such as "The World Poker Tour." His love for comedy, acting, and poker lead to a role in the movie "The Grand," alongside Woody Harrelson.
