2014-03-08
LAS VEGAS, NV, March 08, 2014 (Press-News.org) "It's no surprise that That You Are Here is a love story," author Meredith Allard says. "All of my novels are love stories in one way or another. The surprise might be that That You Are Here is a completely present-day story when I'm most known for historical fiction. Or, the surprise might be that the romantic leads are both men." When asked why she chose to write a love story about two men, Allard answered, "It's topical since same-sex marriage is in the news these days, but it's more than that. You can focus on the fact that the story is about two men, or you can focus on the larger, human issues. The two romantic leads, Andrew Whittaker and Mark Bryce, have quite a journey to travel together, and I hope they are a couple readers cheer for. No matter who you are, you have to learn how to be comfortable in your own skin. That's the challenge that faces Andrew Whittaker. He needs to find peace within himself."

Allard says That You Are Here is her way of adding her voice alongside others who think that people who are in love should be able to get married. "That You Are Here is a love story that happens to be about two men," Allard says. "It's really that simple."

About That You Are Here

The alimony reform debate reaches New Jersey

2014-03-08
A slow, steady ripple of change is impacting alimony laws across the country and the debate has reached New Jersey. Also called spousal maintenance or spousal support, the payment of support by one ex-spouse to the other after divorce or separation has been a traditional part of family law. DWI charges possible in Texas even if under the legal limit

2014-03-08
Although it may surprise many Texas motorists, a driver does not actually have to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above the legal limit in order to be charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Texas. Indeed, while a driver is automatically considered "intoxicated" under Texas law if he or she has a BAC of at least 0.08 percent, DWI charges are also possible if a driver does not have the "normal use of mental or physical faculties" due to alcohol consumption - regardless of BAC levels. In fact, police have been known to charge drivers ...

Is mediation right for your Texas divorce or family law dispute?

2014-03-08
The courtroom can be a daunting place for people unfamiliar with the legal system. Having a judge - who doesn't know you or your family and is guided solely by testimony and facts presented to him or her - make life-changing decisions that will significantly impact your family can be both stressful and dissatisfying. While judges are guided by the laws of the state of Texas, they make determinations based on the facts of a case, not the nuances present in every family dynamic. Many people feel helpless in that situation, and are anxious that a stranger has complete control ...

However, since measles vaccinations have been introduced and regularly implemented, reports of outbreaks -- even among vaccinated persons -- began to surface. Atypical measles For example, in the 1960s, some children developed an especially egregious version of measles called atypical ...
