LOS ANGELES, CA, March 09, 2014 (Press-News.org) Akyumen, the award winning innovative company that's the producer of the patent pending Projector Phone technology, announce today a five-year partnership with the Recording Artists Guild (RAG). This agreement will allow the more than twelve thousand RAG artists the opportunity to have their songs and videos projected in front of millions of music fans who are posed to purchase the world's first and fully integrated mobile Projector Phone . Not only will RAG members have the promotional push of Akyumen (worth millions), they will also have their content pre-sold allowing owners of the phone to enjoy these songs free of charge while supporting both major and indie artists.
Doubling down on previous deals of this nature that have been done in the past, this deal represents the biggest promotional offering for musicians worldwide. Aasim Saied, Chairman and CEO of Akyumen, stated "RAG has a history of pushing the limits when it comes to monetizing music and we see the synergy of bringing exclusive content to our unique product which is sure to give our users an unforgettable experience."
What better way to showcase the world's talent than in extra-wide view. "As more and more people are consuming entertainment content from mobile devices, RAG and Akyumen will be a part of creating a new model and new medium for content creators." This partnership points to where the Music Industry is heading", exclaimed Byron Booker, Chairman & CEO for the Recording Artists Guild.
A recent article by Business Insider stated, "Handing out brand new albums for free is nothing new. Prince did it with the Planet Earth album on the front of the Mail on Sunday in 2007, and Radiohead did it with the tip jar release of In Rainbows later than same year (fans could choose to pay nothing to download it). The idea of an album-as-an-app is not new either (see Björk's release of Biophilia for the iPad in 2011 and Gwilym Gold's Tender Metal app in September last year). And brand partnerships long stopped being a novelty. The only thing that is really new here is the scale of the deal. It is all light years beyond Groove Armada being paid to be the "face" of Bacardi for a year."
Terms of the 5-year agreement includes an arrangement where RAG will supply exclusive video and audio content from its membership base to Akyumen's Projector Phone and Akyumen will feature prepaid and preloaded videos and music on the Projector Phone . Specifics of the deal for musicians include: Exclusive video and album releases with some of the biggest artists in the world specific to language and region delivered through a native Akyumen entertainment app, free daily video and album releases to all Akyumen phone users, prepaid video and album content from RAG members worldwide, and robust promotions for the Akyumen's Mobile Entertainment Application.
The two companies are scheduled to showcase the projector mobile devices and feature participating RAG artists on the Akyumen's Mobile Entertainment app during the SXSW Music and Media Conference, Saturday, March 8th 2014, which is the official launch of Akuymen's Projector Phone "The Hawk". The event, "Spontaneous Speakeasy," is sure to be one of the highlights of SXSW 2014. This oasis away from the madness of SXSW will host some of the biggest stars in music, feature the hottest tech companies around, the coolest product sponsors and the most exclusive party on Sixth Street in downtown Austin. "It's going be off the hook and fully wired at the same time!", exclaimed Byron. More information on Akyumen can be found in Akyumen's website, http://www.Akyumen.com. Details on becoming a member of the Recording Artists Guild can be found at: http://www.RAG.org
