CLEVELAND, OH, March 11, 2014 (Press-News.org) After the success of their "Ladies Love Brunch", which gathered more than 20 influential women from around the greater Cleveland area in late February, The Cleveland Young Professional Minority Women's Group (CYPMWG) will host their official launch "Bold" on March 21st at 6pm in Downtown Cleveland at a private location.
Since the organization's founding in early January, the group has already gained the attention of Cleveland leaders and other young professional organizations with their hands on approach to connecting, empowering, and fostering discussions about leadership and personal development for women of color "I believe the positive attention we've gained has been validation our organization is essential- not only for creating discourse about the needs of women of color but connecting with non-people of color and people of color, alike, so they can be a part of the conversation and initiatives on diversity and inclusion as participants, not bystanders" said CYPMWG Co-Founder Lauren R. Welch, who spearheads the group's efforts with Co-Founder Jazmin Long.
The CYPMWG launch 'Bold' is the first of the organization's larger events this quarter, ending Women's History Month with their Women in Action Speaker Series event with Dr. Marilyn Sanders Mobley, Vice President for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity at Case Western Reserve University, on April 2nd. More Information about the organization and its upcoming events can be found at http://www.CleYPMWG.com or by contacting the organization at info@CleYPMWG.com.
The Cleveland Young Professional Minority Women's Group is comprised of women of color from various sectors around Greater Cleveland and carries out the bold mission of providing a supportive community for women of color to enhance their careers and community through networking initiatives, community engagement, and leadership development tailored to their professional and personal aspirations. While the organization is geared towards women of color, they are not an exclusionary group and welcome all women into their organization.
