The FALDP's newest addition to their Self-Help Guide Series was written for families & caretakers seeking to adopt a child of a relative. Now all of the information to do it yourself is in one place.

We deeply believe that it is the right of all American consumers to have access to the legal system, regardless of income or education. Even though we are prohibited from providing legal advice, we offer information & assistance to educate consumers.

VENICE, FL, November 14, 2010

November is National Adoption Awareness Month. In November of 2009 Governor Crist issued a press release supporting a statewide initiative encouraging child adoption. Florida's adoption initiatives center around children living in foster care, especially older hard to place teens and their siblings. We applaud the state's progress in finding families for so many of these children.

This guide is for families -- grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles -- who are willing to step up and adopt their relative's children before foster care becomes necessary. Only the unfortunates who have no family can understand the ache of longing to belong. To an adopted child, the feeling of belonging is a dream come true. The "we of me" is instantly clear.

Now people seeking to adopt their relatives' children can do it themselves. The Florida Association of Legal Document Preparers (FALDP) team has produced this easy to understand, no legalese, guide. It includes.
