Emerging Treatment Plans Find Success with Lyme Disease Patients

Alternative and Conventional Care Modalities Combine for Best Results

2014-03-13
RENO, NV, March 13, 2014 (Press-News.org) Sierra Integrative Medical Center (SIMC) is helping patients recover from debilitating Lyme disease cases. "We are seeing tremendous results from patients who are now returning to work and resuming a normal life." states Bruce Fong, HMD, DO. One such patient, Reno resident Aaron Nelson, is delighted to be recovering from Lyme disease symptoms, including Hyperacusis and Fibromyalgia. Nelson was unable to handle noise above a whisper and was isolated to his bedroom for the better part of 1-1/2 years. The Fibromyalgia brought on chronic neck and arm pain, and severe weakness in Nelson's arms, for about 13 years. "I had read blogs and watched patient comments for weeks. Every other course of treatment had failed. Within a short time of becoming a patient at SIMC, I saw improvement." Nelson now is glad he did not allow naysayers to block him from the recovery he so desired. Other patients, like Marcia Keenan, regain their pre-disease level of activity, "I have my life back. I'm hiking daily in the beautiful Sierras, doing Pilates, and am very active again. Every morning I look forward to every day. The doctors and staff at The Sierra Integrative Medical Center are so individually supportive, talented, caring and encouraging."

Medical Director Bruce Fong, DO, HMD states, "We are documenting our treatment plans and replicating our successes. We hope to make a significant contribution to Lyme disease research and treatment options. At Sierra Integrative Medical Center, we think of our treatment plans as embracing the best of the West and East." SIMC deals primarily with long-term degenerative and chronic diseases. Treatment plans are based on identifying root causes. SIMC sees many patients with similar symptoms, allowing them to more readily properly diagnose and treat neurodegenerative and chronic infectious diseases. Sierra Integrative is now training physicians to recognize early indicators and red flags they have come to know through many years of focused care. "In my lectures and traveling throughout the US, I see many docs who feel they have exhausted treatment options within the allopathic community. By providing training, new doors are open for re-invigorating careers and improving patient health and overall well-being," observes practice partner, Sean Devlin, DO, HMD.

Effective treatment for difficult cases of chronic degenerative diseases is hard to find. Medical centers are turning to alternative therapies to support and enhance traditional allopathic treatment plans, but trained practitioners are rare. SIMC routinely treats patients suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lyme disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative and chronic infectious diseases. For 2014, SIMC is expanding options for patients nationwide by instructing physicians in specialties like integrative oncology, nutrition and alternative medicine, along with Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and homeopathic remedies.

Learn more about Sierra Integrative by visiting http://www.SierraIntegrative.com. To schedule an appointment as a patient, call 775-828-5388. Physicians can inquire on training options by requesting an interview appointment with Dr. Fong or Dr. Devlin at 775-828-5388.
