NEW YORK, NY, March 13, 2014 (Press-News.org) Ackuna, the free app translation platform is holding a translation contest for the month of March, where the top 3 prize winners will receive a free MemoQ Translator Pro TMS software package (worth over $770).
To participate, users simply have to sign up at http://www.ackuna.com and register for the contest by March 31st. Participants will compete by translating a popular app, while earning points for various accomplishments and tasks within the system. At the end of the contest, the top 3 translators with the most points will be determined the winners and will receive a year's license to the MemoQ Translator Pro software (valued at over $770 retail) and other great prizes, like Amazon.com gift cards.
The contest is open to everybody, however there are structures in place to ensure only serious participants will get far in the contest. Points are only awarded for the most correct submissions, while points are deducted for inaccurate translations.
"While Ackuna has elements of a game already (with the ability of earning badges within the system, scoring reputation points, etc.), we wanted to have a contest as a fun way to showcase our site to new users, while at the same time rewarding the most dedicated and accurate translators," says Alex Buran, Founder and CEO of Ackuna. "I also must extend a big 'Thank You' to Kilgray Translation Technologies for sponsoring this event and donating such amazing prizes. I'm sure the winners will be happy as well!"
While the prizes are awarded to the best translators during this contest, app developers should take notice and participate as well. "We want to be able to offer a popular app as the source material for the contest," Alex goes on to say. "We expect to draw a lot of professional translators to this contest, and as any developer knows, professional app translation can be an expensive process. If you have a large game or app that you've been wanting to go global, then submit it for our contest. The larger, the better. If we use it, you will end up with a professionally translated app into multiple languages for free! Not to mention a lot of free promotion...That's a great prize in its own right, potentially worth thousands."
For more details about the contest, to register or to submit your app for consideration, please visit http://ackuna.com/pages/memoq_contest.
Registration is open until March 31st. The official start of the contest will begin on April 1st.
