HAWTHORN, AUSTRALIA, March 19, 2014 (Press-News.org) Senior Corporate Counsel (Asia Pacific) of GE Energy Management, Diana N. Lew, BA, LLB (Hons), has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law and technology.

With 17 years of experience in the technology and energy industries, Ms. Lew has served as the senior corporate counsel of GE Energy Management for four years. The company designs leading technology services for the management and optimization of electrical power for consumers across multiple energy-based industries. Here, Ms. Lew provides in-house counseling and legal advice, handles in-person commercial negotiations, and oversees compliance issues.

During her 12 years with GE, Ms. Lew has been appointed respectively to senior roles as in-house counsel through four business units. She worked as the corporate counsel for GE Consumer Finance until 2005 before being promoted to senior corporate counsel of GE Plastics. Ms. Lew was then appointed to senior corporate counsel of GE Security in 2006, and eventually GE Energy Management in Asia Pacific, in 2009. She brings a wealth of experience in a variety of disciplines, particularly in technology and intellectual property law, running effective in-person commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers, as well as compliance management, risk management and commercial training.

Ms. Lew received an honors degree in law from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminology from the University of Melbourne. She has completed a substantial portion of her Master of Commercial Law from the University of Melbourne, with high honours results to date. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding for professional excellence and maintains affiliation with the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association and the Asian Corporate Counsel Association. In 2012, Ms. Lew was awarded a Certificate of Achievement upon completing her 10th year of service at General Electric. Also noteworthy was her associateship to His Honor by Judge Michael M. Forde of the District Court of Queensland in 1996, being pronounced the winner of the State and National Rounds of the Legal Client Interviewing Competition in 1996, as well as spending a number of years in private practice as a senior associate with the intellectual property and trade practices groups of the international law firm, Ashurst, which was formerly known as Blake Dawson Waldron.

Ms. Lew is dedicated to protecting the company, assisting commercial colleagues in meeting their targets and resolving legal issues and disputes. She has a proven track record of developing long-lasting client relationships. In the years ahead, she expects to experience continued professional growth and success.
