InStep Software to Discuss Predictive Analytics in Support of O&M Practices at CTOTF

Company to Provide Insight on Advanced Pattern Recognition for Combustion Turbine Operators

CHICAGO, IL, March 19, 2014 (Press-News.org) As power generation companies across the globe continue to focus on reducing maintenance costs and operational risks while increasing reliability, InStep Software representatives will share insight and best practices for asset performance management at the Spring 2014 Combustion Turbine Operations Technical Forum (CTOTF) Conference & Trade Show.

The event takes place April 6-10, 2014, in West Palm Beach, Fla. at the PGA National Resort, and is designed to increase attendees' knowledge of all aspects of turbine plant power production and supporting systems. As a member of CTOTF's Champion sponsorship program, InStep will be exhibiting at Booth No. 21 during the evening reception on April 7.

InStep's Manager of Analytical Services, Mike Reed, will present on "Integrating Predictive Analytics into Combustion Turbine O&M Practices" at 8:05 a.m., Thursday, April 10 during the Gen-EI&C (HV-Electrical & Instrumentation and Controls) Roundtable. Reed has more than 20 years of extensive hands-on experience in engineering design, construction, commissioning and operations and will discuss how advanced pattern recognition aids plant O&M personnel in their decision-making strategies as an integral aspect of predictive maintenance practices.

"Increasing asset reliability, efficiency and savings are among the top priorities in any process-driven industry," Reed said. "Predictive analytics solutions provide plant personnel with the insights to achieve those goals through extending equipment maintenance intervals, reducing unnecessary maintenance expenditures and supplementing the plant's condition-based maintenance efforts."

The CTOTF is a membership organization of combustion turbine owners/ operators. The organization's user-defined mission continues to be the premier forum for the exchange of information and experiences related to the design, operations and maintenance of combustion turbine and combined cycle power plants, and to provide a collective voice for its members to express issues and concerns to the combustion turbine industry.
