BRUSSELS, March 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) Patric Amcoff, Director of Research and Science at Cosmetics Europe, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in research on alternative approaches to animal testing.
With 15 years of experience in his field, Mr. Amcoff is known for his expertise in obtaining international regulatory acceptance of complex science projects for purposes of safety assessments. Daily, he is tasked with being responsible for a small team of scientists, having overall responsibility of a number of steering committees, handling external relationships with the whole business area, administering the research budget funding, allocating resources to appropriate projects, handling development projects and pushing them through the development and regulatory acceptance phases.
Prior to his present position, Mr. Amcoff worked two years as the operational manager of a new European Commission reference laboratory for the development of tests and testing strategies to meet a variety of regulatory testing requirements in Europe and beyond. He has broad international experience from working with international organizations, governments, industry and scientific associations and extensive experience from leading complex scientific projects in international consensus making environments. Additionally, he worked at the OECD in Paris for 10 years and was responsible for the development of alternative approaches and new strategies for risk and hazard assessment. Furthermore, he was also responsible for the development of alternative testing tools for evaluation of nanomaterials.
Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Mr. Amcoff attributes his success to hard work, dedication, firm goal-setting and delivering results within expected deadlines. He became involved in his profession because originally, he had intended to stay at the University of Sweden, but an interesting opportunity presented itself in Paris. He worked as the principal administrator for a large portfolio project, which led to his current position.
In the years ahead, Mr. Amcoff hopes to continue working with development of alternative approaches to animal testing.
