ADAPTURE Participates in Technology Association of Georgia Cybersecurity Simulation

ATLANTA, GA, March 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) held its annual cybersecurity simulation on February 25 at the Joint Forces Headquarters of the Georgia National Guard. ADAPTURE (www.ADAPTURE.com) was represented by consultant Tim Cullen, who participated as a co-chair of the cyber attack team. The purpose of the exercise is to prepare Georgia businesses to defend against the dangers associated with a real cyber event.

The cyber attack team held the fictitious shipping database of The Logistics Company (TLC) for ransom. Over a two-hour period, TLC was challenged to repel seven attacks in a live simulation.

"This simulation gives companies an exclusive opportunity to see the legal, technology, and corporate issues presented during an attack," Cullen explains. "Businesses need to be nimbler with their policies in the event of a cyber emergency. Not always will the 'necessary' steps be the most effective," he added.

More than 300 executives, law enforcement and other cyber security professionals were in attendance. TAG leadership boasts the simulation as one of the few "table top" exercises of its type in the US open for public observation. ADAPTURE has already been invited to participate in the 2015 TAG exercise.
