Ladies Night Out with Musiq SoulChild, Goapele and Dwele

Rainbow Promotions, LLC. Celebrates Women with a Special Night of Music.

2014-03-20
LONG BEACH, CA, March 20, 2014 (Press-News.org) "It's all about the Ladies!" states Kimberly Benoit of Rainbow Promotions, LLC. and producer of "Ladies Night Out" taking place April 5th, 2014 at the Terrace Theater Long Beach Performing Arts Center. And what a night it will be. Ladies will be taken to church with Soulful sounds, reflective poetic words of song, and an emotional self-evolution from a consortium of R&B, funk, neo-soul and contemporary artists: Musiq Soulchild, Goapele and Dwele.

Musiq Soulchild, multiplatinum singer/songwriter, headlines what will be coined the stellar concert for ladies. Musiq will bring sexy, soulful lyrics that will melt the hearts of every woman in attendance. Since stepping on the scene in 1998, a lot has changed. He's no longer that talented cat from Philadelphia who just wants to sing. Since then, he's made the shift from his native Philly, where he honed his skills among the city's prolific music scene, to Atlanta. He's gone platinum not once, but twice, and performed with everyone from Mary J. Blige and Carlos Santana to Estelle and The Roots. As he readies the release of MusiqintheMagiq, he is eager to show fans yet another side, and perhaps let them in on the secret to his unforgettable blend of magic.

Goapele ("move forward" in Setswanga; a Southern African Language) will bring a sensual, sexual vibe that will allow women to get in tune with those essences within themselves. Singer/songwriter Goapele broke out of Bay Area at the beginning of the last decade determined to make a difference in the world of music. Seamlessly blending genres while refusing to be limited by the "neo-soul" tag, the eloquent singer/songwriter completed her first release Closer in 2001 and never looked back. Embraced from the beginning by critics and fans alike, Goapele carved the perfect niche for herself as she created music that fused jazz, soul and hip-hop with her own beautiful poetry.

Yet, while the Oakland native and former Berklee College of Music student has continued to grow as artist and live performer in the eleven years since her debut, Goapele is also known as a savvy businesswoman.

Dwele (Andwele "Dwele" Gardner) will not disappoint the ladies by serving his unique brand of contemporary, neo-soulesque R&B flavor. As a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Detroit, Michigan, Dwele has released five albums, the latest being 2012's GREATER THAN ONE, which received rave reviews. Dwele is currently on his 10th Anniversary "Subject" tour, which hits London, Los Angeles, Oakland, New York City, Atlanta Baltimore, D.C. and more.

LADIES NIGHT OUT is presented by Rainbow Promotions, LLC, producers of the annual Long Beach Jazz Festival, one of the city's most popular annual musical events. The stylish, newly renovated Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center provides the perfect venue to sit back and enjoy an enchanting night of great music.

It's CleanEdison, Not Con Edison

2014-03-20
Working at CleanEdison, in New York, we often hear the question, "Is that part of Con Edison?" We do not factor into the consolidation of Consolidated Edison, Inc. After a gas explosion claimed the lives of eight people and injured several others in East Harlem last week, Con Edison came under much scrutiny regarding the thoroughness of their systems and their response to the reported gas leak.
