Cheryl J. Wilkinson, Founder and Veterans' Consultant at Transitional Assistance, has been recognized for demonstrated dedication, leadership and excellence in assistance to our nation's veterans.Transitional Assistance is a veterans' services provider that provides assistance to veterans in transitioning from a military to a civilian environment as well as finding a job that utilizes their knowledge, experience and skills gained while in the military. This includes partnering with other organizations and businesses that recognize advantages of hiring employees with military experience and values. With an expertise in the areas of human resources and project planning, Ms. Wilkinson attributes her success to God, her family and her experiences in the U.S. Army. She became involved in this profession because of her own experiences transitioning back into civilian life. Her experiences ignited a passion within her to use the knowledge she had gained the hard way to help her fellow veterans find the right job and the benefits they are entitled too as well by using her newly gained insider's experience.
Recently, Ms. Wilkinson was inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliations with Military Police Regimental Association, Engineer Regimental Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and is a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and American Legion. In total, Ms. Wilkinson has more than 27 years of experience in human resources, with five years as a veteran consultant at Transitional Assistance. Additional professional experience includes having served as a domestic violence advocate and a sexual assault advocate.
Ms. Wilkinson is honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserve after 23 years of dedicated service. She was awarded an Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (Third Award), Army Achievement Medal (Third Award), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (Second Award), National Defense Service Medal (Second Award), South West Asia Service Medal w/ Bronze Service Star (Second Award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Second Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M Device, KU-LIB-MDL (Saudi Arabia), KU-LIB-MDL (Kuwait).
Ms. Wilkinson is expects to complete a master's degree in human resources management at Webster University in 2014. She earned a bachelor's degree in general studies with and emphasis in human resources from Columbia College in 2010. In 2014, Worldwide Branding named her as an Elite American Military professional. Outside of her professional career, she supports Catholic Relief Services, and enjoys photography, mentoring, teaching and coaching as well as training with her service animal. In years to come, Ms. Wilkinson intends to continue providing services for fellow veterans.
