MARLTON, NJ, March 27, 2014 (Press-News.org) Challenge Family has selected Brad Bernardini, MD of Reconstructive Orthopedics as Medical Director of Challenge Atlantic City. Dr. Bernardini is Co-Director of ReconSports, the Sports Medicine Group at Reconstructive Orthopedics, New Jersey's largest Orthopedic Group. The team from ReconSports will be staffing the medical tents throughout race weekend, providing medical care to the athletes competing in the event. "I'm thrilled to be able to help Challenge Family make their first US race a success," comments Dr. Bernardini. "Being able to do it in my backyard here in New Jersey is an added bonus."
Dr. Bernardini is a competitive triathlete, USAT Age Group Nationals Qualifier, and three-time Ironman finisher. He is regarded as one of the area's leading sports medicine specialists and was voted by South Jersey Magazine readers as a "Sports Medicine Top Doc" in 2013. Surgically, he specializes in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive joint preservation and cartilage restoration in both adults and children.
Dr. Bernardini is currently the Medical Director of Sports Medicine at the Virtua Health & Wellness Center in Washington Township and The Total Turf Experience in Pitman. Additionally, he has been distinguished as an Associate Masters Instructor of Arthroscopic Knee and Shoulder Surgery by the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and is a published author in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and Liberty Sports Magazine.
