E. Thomas Arne, Jr., DO, FACC Introduces Personalized Care Medical Practice in Sarasota, Florida

Dr. Arne's Introduces New Personalized Care Practice Model

2014-03-28
SARASOTA, FL, March 28, 2014 (Press-News.org) E. Thomas Arne, Jr., DO, FACC is transitioning his cardiology practice in Sarasota FL, to a personalized care model, also known as concierge medical care. Combining his specialty in cardiology with a return to full internal medicine coverage, Dr. Arne's new personalized care practice model will allow him to care for patients in a more comprehensive manner, with quality time to proactively address both disease prevention and primary care needs.

Dr. Arne is a board certified in cardiovascular diseases and currently serves on staff and functions as the admitting physician at both Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctors Hospital of Sarasota. "If a patient needs to be hospitalized, I know it is extremely valuable to them that I will have primary medical responsibility for their care, rather than having it in the hands of a hospitalist," added Arne. "Furthermore, if a patient is ill or otherwise unable to come to the office, I will make a house call or selected nursing home visit."

In a personalized care practice, physicians dramatically reduce their patient panel from thousands to hundreds of patients allowing the physician to offer longer on-time appointments that are available the same day or next day of a patient call. Patients are given their physician's cell phone and are able to contact them personally for any medical emergency, day or night. In addition to caring for patients when they are ill, the physician has more time to focus on proactive wellness to keep patients as healthy as possible.

"In my new personalized care practice, patients will receive the same high standard of care I have always delivered," notes Arne. "The difference is that patients will be receiving overall health care and in a truly comprehensive manner that addresses the whole patient - body, mind and spirit."

To assist with his practice change, Dr. Arne enlisted Specialdocs Consultants, Inc., a national health care consulting firm that transitions traditional medical practices to a personalized care or concierge medicine model. The practice transition services provided by Specialdocs offer a viable alternative for primary care and subspecialty physicians who want to maintain their autonomy in our evolving health care landscape.
