OPTEX Announces Integration With Avigilon Control Center Video Management Software

Integration improves IP video surveillance systems used for outdoor perimeter security.

2014-04-01
OTSU, JAPAN, April 01, 2014 (Press-News.org) OPTEX Co. LTD, a leading manufacturer of security infrared and laser technology, announced today the integration of their sensors and detectors with the Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management software (VMS) from Avigilon. The result will improve IP video surveillance by minimizing false alarms for outdoor perimeter applications.

Optex detection products integrated into the ACC Standard and Enterprise VMS software (version 5.0.2.24 or later) include:

- Redscan Laser-Scan Detectors identify moving objects' size, speed, and distance from the detector. The device processes that information with a unique algorithm, resulting in a highly reliable detection system with minimal false alarms.

- PIE-1 PoE Alarm IP Encoder provides power over Ethernet (PoE) for OPTEX Redscan, Redwall, and Redbeam devices to eliminate the need for separate power feeds; it also converts alarm signals to an IP signal sent to the Avigilon ACC client for Redwall SIP and Redbeam photoelectric detectors, effectively integrating these detectors with the ACC client.

"Combining OPTEX sensor and detector technology with Avigilon's ACC software will provide an efficient systems integration solution for users who want to effectively respond to security alarms and events with video verification," says Mac Kokobo, Optex America CEO. "OPTEX sensors and detectors actively reduce video-driven false alarms. As a result, they can eliminate the need for costly responses by personnel."

The Avigilon integration will be part of the OPTEX product showcase in booth 22043 at ISC West, Las Vegas, NV, on April 2-4.
