Kline, CPA, MST, formerly shareholders with Shechtman Marks Devor PC, joined Citrin Cooperman as partners on August 17, 2010. The 31st largest accounting firm in the U.S. based on net revenue according to Inside Public Accounting, Citrin Cooperman has increased almost 50 percent in the Philadelphia market in three years.
According to Mark Carrow, the managing partner for Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia office, "We are pleased to welcome BJ and Michael to our team. Hoffman concentrates in the areas of litigation support, tax planning and attestation services. His tax and audit practice includes real estate ventures, investment companies, healthcare facilities, professional service providers, high net-worth individuals and not-for-profit organizations. In addition, he is skilled in working with start-up, entrepreneurial enterprises and closely held businesses. Hoffman also provides litigation support and expert testimony to attorneys in legal matters.
Hoffman, a resident of Oreland, Pa., graduated magna cum laude in 1992 with a degree in Accounting from Lehigh University's School of Business and Economics. He was nominated for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Hoffman is past president of the Make-A-Wish Foundation Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania Board of Directors and has served on the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Young Leadership Council and JEVS Human Services for which he currently serves as treasurer of the board.
Kline's responsibilities include tax consulting, review, compliance and planning. He serves corporations, limited liability companies and high net-worth individuals. His client base consists of entrepreneurial, privately owned companies covering such diverse industries as technology, wholesale, manufacturing and professional services. Kline also provides business advisory services regarding the establishment of client banking relationships and employee benefits planning, to name a few.
A resident of Marlton, N.J., Kline graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Drexel University in 1986. He achieved a Master's degree in Taxation from Villanova University in 1991. Kline is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tax Division and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also served as the treasurer for Point Breeze Performing Arts Center. Kline looks forward to returning to his alma mater, Drexel University, where he is scheduled to teach an income tax class in the spring of 2011.
