Alumnify to Win USD's Annual V2 Bi-National Entrepreneurship Competition

SAN DIEGO, CA, April 07, 2014 (Press-News.org) For four hours last night, the seven finalist (four from the U.S. and three from Mexico) of USD's annual V2 Bi-National Entrepreneurship Competition gathered to give pitches to a panel of angel investors. The four USD finalist were picked out of a total of 55 entrants. These four companies were also given the chance to have a sit down and have a one-on-one with each investor.

After much deliberation, the Angel Investors - Allison Long Pettine, Tom Breitling, Navid Alipour - determined how to split up the $50,000 cash prize. Three of the finalist, Rivolix, Fundpal and TwoLikeYou, took home a combined total of $10,000, leaving a grand prize of $40,000 for the winner of the competition, Alumnify. This total was shocking to the members of Alumnify present last night. The grand prize winnings is by far one of the largest to be given out at the V2 Competition; the last winner, OnMyBlock, won $15,000 back in 2013. The winnings will be going towards building each company.

Alumnify is excited about the grand prize, especially since the competition was so great this year. Part of the Alumnify team had attended the event: AJ Agrawal, the CEO who gave the pitch, Eghosa Aihie, the CFO of Alumnify, and Amy Kittisoros, the CMO of the company. Each member was blown away by the panel's decision and were incredibly grateful for such a great prize. The Alumnify team is also appreciative for all the great support from the USD community and the accelerator program they are a part of in South Carolina - T MINUS 6.

"We are so excited for winning the V2 competition at the University of San Diego. Our journey started right on the USD campus, so being able to say that they have funded our venture is one of the greatest accomplishments we have achieved so far. The prize money we have won will be used to grow our University clientele, as well as continuing to recruit amazing people for our team," AJ Agrawal stated.
