Raleigh Collaborative Divorce Attorneys to Give Continuing Education Presentation for Stephen Ministries Group
2014-04-14
RALEIGH, NC, April 14, 2014 (Press-News.org) Mark Springfield and Kerry Burleigh of Springfield Collaborative Divorce will be delivering an educational seminar for Stephen Ministries and other interested members of the Crossroad Fellowship Church from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15. The seminar will instruct those attending on how to be good caregivers for those who are experiencing grief and loss during the crisis of divorce.

Collaborative divorce is a unique separation procedure that takes place completely outside of the courtroom. Collaborative Law Proceedings provide a structured plan to reduce conflict between separating parties and help them come to resolutions off of an interest-based negotiation model. "People facing the crisis of divorce are looking for a legal process that will protect their rights, but won't pull them into even more conflict than they're already experiencing," said Springfield. "With the collaborative divorce method I am able to help people resolve their conflicts, but doing it a way that is more likely to help families move on after divorce with dignity and hope."

Divorce can also have a damaging effect on the children that can oftentimes be caught in the middle of a divorce contest. "Collaborative divorce focuses parents on problem solving for the needs of their children both during the divorce and for their future," said Burleigh, "so even if they have to raise their children from two different homes, they can still be the great parents they've always tried to be."

The event is closed to the public, but Springfield and Burleigh are always open to sharing more about the collaborative divorce process.
