Michigan "Back to School" Rally answers the call for change in our schools and communities

As reported by MSNBC and the Associated Press former Secretary of State Colin Powell has formed the America's Promise Alliance to answer the call heard around the world for major change in our education systems.

2010-08-27
REDFORD, MI, August 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) âEURœWhen more than 1 million students a year drop out of high school, itâEUR s more than a problem, itâEUR s a catastropheâEUR. In Michigan that equates to less than 50% of students graduating and becoming active members in their communities. In fact âEURœOver 50% of the inmates in Michigan jails are high school drop-outsâEUR, Reported by Patricia Hawke. So how do we make a change in our schools and communities? Alma Powell (former Secretary of State Colin PowellâEUR s wife) says âEURœStudents need to graduate with skills that will help them in higher education and beyond. We must invest in the whole child, and that means finding solutions that involve the family, the school and the community.âEUR In Michigan a local resident has also heard the call for change and created The Beecher Foundation to offer hope, tools and information to families in need.

An Alumni of Wayne State University, Wayne County Community College, and currently a Graduate Student at Liberty University, Ms. Beecher knows firsthand the difference her education made in her life. âEURœEducation has increased my life and my familiesâEUR life by opening many doors of opportunity. I continue to build relationships all over the world by traveling the country while helping to improve the lives of others, for that I am gratefulâEUR, says Nicole Beecher. As a native Detroiter and a mother of teenage twins, The Beecher Foundation president realizes that the difficult economic challenges facing the nation have created additional obstacles for the next generation. âEURœI believe that just as my generation and my parentsâEUR generation united to create change in their homes and communities we must go back to those same principles to transform our education system and schoolsâEUR says Ms. Beecher. One initiative The Beecher Foundation is launching to create this much needed change is the âEURœTogether We StandâEUR Back to School Rally on Sunday, September 5, 2010 held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southfield, MI. The Back to School Rally will provide wellness health screenings and information, a Back to School fashion showcase, premier live entertainment, Back to School prizes and more. âEURœOur goal is to serve children and teens during the month of September and throughout the school year with school supplies, apparel and shoes for school, personal care items and moreâEUR, says Beecher Foundation president and they are not standing alone. Presenting sponsors of the âEURœTogether We StandâEUR Back to School Rally include:
Save a Lot, Kroger, Alta Moda Salon, Top of the Line Styles, P Jackson Insurance Agency and many other civic and community leaders. There are many more events and projects of change scheduled for the new school year and beyond! The Beecher FoundationâEUR s Mission is to become a catalyst for change throughout communities by bridging gaps in educational, personal and financial needs ultimately esteeming individuals, families and specifically our youth.

To join The Beecher Foundation for the Ultimate Back to School kickoff you can purchase tickets online at http://www.togetherwestandrally.eventbrite.com. Doors open at 6:30pm followed by back to school resource giveaways, wellness health screenings, premier live entertainment, refreshments and much more. Accident and Fraud Investigation Services

2010-08-27
When we have adverts on the television proclaiming that the average injury payout is GBP2,700 and the cost of insurance fraud reaching almost GBP2bn in the UK, then we say that investing in accident and insurance fraud investigation is now more pertinent than ever before. Especially as these figures do not look like diminishing anytime soon, at least not without some form of affirmative action. It would appear the relatively recent phenomena of UK lawyer firms offering no win no fee services to those who have suffered injuries either in the workplace or in vehicle accidents ...
