In an interview with Manufacturing Digital, Brian Bendig, president of Cavalier Tool & Manufacturing Ltd reveals that increased efficiency and a focus on its processes have created success for the company over the past 35 years."Our 2009 year was our most profitable year," says Bendig. "I credit that success to a combination of three things: people, process and equipment." According to Bendig, success is contingent upon having all three components--the right people doing the right process on the right equipment breeds success. A shop may have state-of-the-art equipment, but if it's not run efficiently then it's not an advantage. "You always try to align the equipment that best suits your needs," he says. Additionally, the company streamlined its operations with Lean and Six Sigma several years ago.
