Silverbear Races for Grown Up Congenital Heart Patients' Association [GUCH]

The staff of Silverbear Ltd took part in the 10K Richmond Run to raise money for the Grown up Congenital Heart Patients Association.

GUILDFORD, ENGLAND, November 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) On Saturday 16th October, 20 members of Silverbear staff crossed the finish line of the 10k Richmond River Run, raising over GBP2000 for the Grown Up Congenital Heart Patients Association.

The team ran in memory of a much loved colleague who lost his life due to congenital heart disease. The decision to take part in the 10k Richmond River Run was made to try and raise money for the charity that supports the sufferers and their families of this condition as well as carrying out vital research into the cause and treatment for adults with congenital heart defects.

Mark Travis, Managing Director at Silverbear commented: "At least 8 out of every 1000 babies born each year have a heart defect. GUCH is a charity which seeks to improve the quality of life and extend the lives of congenital heart defect survivors. The work they do is invaluable and we wanted to show our support for this worthwhile cause."

Silverbear raised over GBP2200 and are still accepting donations. Anyone wishing to contribute to this cause can do so by donating online at http://www.justgiving.com/silverbear , so far over 120 people have generously donated.
