Retired IBM Executive Launches Unique Consulting Firm Focused on GLBT Diversity Management, Organizational Effectiveness, and Career Development

2010-11-18
RALEIGH, NC, November 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) The GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) community comprises a $4.5 billion marketplace in America, as well as a sizeable pool of professional talent. However, the majority of American businesses have no actionable plan to successfully increase revenue or employee productivity by leveraging GLBT diversity strategies. Stan Kimer, a retired director of global sales operations with IBM, has made it his mission to change this practice, and has launched a consulting firm based in the Raleigh area that will focus on diversity management specializing in GLBT diversity, as well as project management, career development, road mapping, and organizational effectiveness within companies and nonprofits. Kimer has held corporate leadership roles within IBM for more than 30 years, and, after his recent retirement, has decided to use his vast experience to help bring diversity and operational guidance to organizations in the Triangle area.

Total Engagement Consulting will bring a unique offering to businesses and nonprofits in the form of expert GLBT diversity management, which will be enhanced by Kimer's years of experience within IBM's Human Resources department as the program manager for GLBT diversity initiatives. During his time in the role, Kimer guided IBM to premier industry leadership status in GLBT diversity, winning all five key marketplace GLBT diversity awards. An IBM senior vice president has said of Kimer, "[He] has moved our company forward with his active support to GLBT individuals throughout IBM. He brings value to our business and represents 'value' in everything he does."

In addition to diversity services, Total Engagement Consulting will help organizations ensure that all of their employees are fully engaged in career and skills development and feel supported by their management teams, allowing them to grow to their full potential. Total Engagement Consulting will also provide management for floundering projects and teams, transforming them from problems into profitable winners.
