MADISON, WI, April 21, 2014 (Press-News.org) A new startup offers a quick and affordable way for businesses and professionals to have their written communication professionally edited. WordChum is an easy-to-use web platform for uploading written communications and documents such as marketing collateral, professional memos, cover letters, press releases, emails, and formal social media postings. WordChum experts review the communication for grammar, punctuation, tone and overall clarity. WordChum's simple pricing and quick turnaround time enables users to communicate confidently and effectively in almost any scenario.
WordChum also supports direct enterprise engagements, allowing businesses an isolated workflow channel that ensures heightened confidentiality and speed.
"I believe there is a growing epidemic of poorly written communication in our society," says founder Byron Alsberg, a serial entrepreneur who lives and works in Silicon Valley. "I have seen startups to Fortune 500 firms publish websites and marketing and technical collateral that contain frightening typos and improper grammar. I have read badly written cover letters from qualified job candidates. This does not reflect well on a company or individual."
To address this problem, Alsberg reached out to a friend from his undergraduate days at University of Wisconsin-Madison, local writer Laura Schaefer, author of The Teashop Girls novels. "When Byron explained the problem he wanted to solve I was immediately interested in getting involved," says Schaefer. "I get a lot of calls and emails from friends who need me to look over their cover letters and other writing. Often, they just want to make sure there aren't any glaring mistakes, but I go further and edit for clarity and overall flow. WordChum is an opportunity to share my passion for correct and engaging writing on a larger scale. The WordChum team and I are focused on eliminating writing stress and making our users shine."
If you'd like more information, or to schedule an interview to join the WordChum team as a developer or writing expert, send an email to laura@wordchum.com.
