WASHINGTON, DC, April 23, 2014 (Press-News.org) After an extensive renovation of the Georgetown location that was formerly home to Garretts Restaurant and Railroad Tavern, I-Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar Georgetown will be officially opening its doors on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 3003 M Street NW. Many locals remember the Garretts location, as it was a popular meeting spot for more than 30 years before closing in 2011. While the building's distinctive integrity is still very much alive in the interior's architecture, there is now a refreshed new life in this space.
"Our restaurant's atmosphere is very unique," said Debbie Ratanaprasith of I-Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar. "We preserved the Georgetown colonial interior as can be seen from the original fireplace, while we added our fond memories of growing up free spirits in Thai villages with a village-lifestyle painting and a hand-painted banana leaf patterned wall."
The Thai menu can be more accurately described as four regional cuisines that correspond with each of the four regions in Thailand: Northern, Northeastern, Central and Southern. Each dish or meal is unique, as it artfully balances three to four of the fundamental taste senses: sour, sweet, salty and bitter.
The Sushi menu uses only the freshest ingredients, and is artfully prepared by the talented Sushi chefs. With a number of personalized options for the Georgetown location, the menu highlights fresh sushi; grilled seafood, vegetarian fares, and classically prepared Japanese dishes. Sushi is available in the restaurant, or up close and personal with the chefs at the Sushi Bar.
With great pride taken in the level of authentic cuisine offered, I-Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar will include many of the more traditional Thai items on their menus. While many Thai restaurants do not include these items because the dishes can be more complicated and time-consuming to make, I-Thai will have an extensive menu to satisfy those looking for the authentic spices of Thailand, as well as more mild options. The Thai Chefs transform each dish with the perfect blend of herbs and spices, creating a delightful experience with the boldest and most genuine Thai flavors possible.
"Our goal is to create an intersection of space and time that transcends cultures and nationalities," added Ratanaprasith.
After a very successful operation of the company's I-Thai Restaurant and Bar in Tyson's West and Thai Deelish in Ashburn, the owners are excited to bring their uniquely authentic menu to Georgetown. Dining at the new Georgetown restaurant will be more formal than the other locations, while the service, atmosphere and environment create a very friendly and inviting experience.
Providing multiple dining areas on two floors allow flexibility for guests, as well as a great new option for business meetings, receptions and family gatherings. Each room has a theme, including the three individual dining room and lounge areas available upstairs on the second floor, featuring the very popular sunroom. The first floor has a dining room, full bar and exclusive private nook for a small group looking for the highest level of privacy.
To celebrate this opening, I-Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Georgetown will be offering a savings of 50 percent for guests during the April 25-30 launch event. Reservations are required. The reviews have been extremely positive during the current soft opening, and the entire team is eager to officially open their doors this week.
To summarize what guests are to expect, "The decor is contemporary Thai with emphasis on Western comforts and family-friendly styles," said Ratanaprasith. "The menu is a beautiful combination of authentic Thai, Japanese Sushi and Vegetarian; with close attention to authentic and fresh ingredients for each dish, and our offerings are generous!"
I-Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar Georgetown will be open Sundays - Thursdays from 11:30am until 10:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am until 11:00pm. Tel: (202) 580-8852 | Website: www.i-thairestaurant.com/dc
