IRVINE, CA, April 23, 2014 (Press-News.org) Fish & Associates, PC, a premier intellectual property (IP) law firm in Southern California, proudly announces the addition of highly regarded partner Mei Tsang to the firm's official nomenclature. Tsang brings more than 12 years of legal expertise and a wide breadth of IP experience to the newly named Fish & Tsang LLP. The respected attorney has advised myriad organizations - from startups to Fortune 500 companies - through various stages of IP litigation proceedings and arbitrations.
Since joining Fish & Associates in 2007, Tsang's work has focused solely on IP enforcement, patent and trademark prosecution, counseling and licensing. She is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, and has provided legal assistance on important IP matters in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Tsang also has partnered on various initiatives with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, FBI and the Los Angeles Police Department to combat counterfeit violators and infringers throughout the country.
"Mei has shown extraordinary teamwork and dedication at Fish & Associates, PC, evolving in her leadership role over much of the firm's history, and playing an integral role in the firm's expansion for the past decade," said Robert (Bob) D. Fish, the founding partner of Fish & Associates - and a renowned IP attorney with nearly 25 years experience who built the company into a leading IP law firm known for taking a holistic approach to counseling clients through the IP process.
Fish continued, "Mei and I share the same long-sighted approach to business, and together we will continue the firm's mantra of 'Making Dreams Come True' for the entire IP community - a legacy we hope to leave behind in the years to come."
Tsang received her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, an International Law Certificate from the University of London College of Law and an undergraduate degree in biology from Purdue University. She is the co-chair of the Orange County Bar Association's (OCBA) IP and Technology Section and is a member of the International Trademark Association's Anti-Counterfeiting Committee. In addition, she is the president of W3 Women Inc., a member of the Women Presidents' Organization and is a board member of OCBA's Charitable Fund. She was recently named barrister to the Howard T. Markey Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.
"As a Chinese immigrant, I came to this country at 13 years old, speaking very little English. I never dreamed I could be a lawyer in the United States, let alone a partner at this firm," said Tsang. "Fish & Tsang is making my own dreams come true, and for that, I give my deepest gratitude, dedication and commitment to our clients and our team."
As part of its name change to Fish & Tsang, the firm has unveiled a host of rebranding elements, including the commission of a corporate identity video (http://ow.ly/vUqjV) to tell the story of how the firm's namesakes built Fish & Tsang LLP into a next-generation law firm with global reach. The video highlights the firm's greater mission, vision and core values, and includes testimonials from a number of Fish & Tsang clients. The firm also has unveiled a new logo and color scheme, symbolic of its core values "balance" and "harmony" as well as a new website to follow in the coming months.
