SAN JOSE, CA, April 26, 2014 (Press-News.org) Streamline Simulations LLC has entered into a definitive agreement with Tactus Technologies Inc., a spin-off of the Virtual Reality Laboratory at the University of Buffalo, to acquire their 3D Forklift training software. Streamline Simulations is constantly looking for virtual reality solutions that provide users a more efficient and effective way to learn complex processes.

"Not only does the 3D Forklift software drastically improve safety and reduce training time, the intuitive training curriculum is based on OSHA standards and is physics-based which gives the user a cognitive experience that cannot be obtained from other training materials currently available in the market", said Jim Mayrose, chief executive officer and co-founder of Tactus.

Current forklift training involves a combination of classroom-based lectures, videos and observation before an operator actually steps into the driver's seat. The 3D Forklift software gives new and seasoned operators a hands-on experience and allows them to experience "real-world" forklift operations and mistakes without endangering lives or property. In addition to providing a safer and more efficient way to train employees, companies will find that the 3D Forklift will shorten training cycles and operators will require less supervision, thereby saving time and money.

The basic version of the 3D Forklift trainer features a standard warehouse environment. Customers will be able to adapt the highly-customizable solution to their training needs.
