BJAC Building Earns LEED Silver Certification

The Gateway Research Building I Recognized For Sustainability And Green Design By Architectural Firm

RALEIGH, NC, December 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) Lou Jurkowski, FAIA and CEO at BJAC, pa (http://www.bjac.com), an architectural firm offering professional services for specialized, complex institutional projects, has announced that its Gateway Research Building I is LEED Silver Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). LEED is the nation's preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. By using less energy, LEED-certified buildings save money for communities, businesses and taxpayers, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and contribute to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger society.

The Gateway Research Building I is the first building of Gateway University Research Park's South campus in Greensboro, N.C. Its design includes metal panels and expanses of glass that echo the technological institutions that make their home on this joint campus of North Carolina A&T and the University of NC Greensboro.
