A/E/P Maguire Group's New Hires Help Meet Demands of Growing Business

New hires help Maguire Group take advantage of its position in Northeast state and municipal architectural, engineering, transportation, and construction services markets.

2010-12-04
FOXBOROUGH, MA, December 04, 2010 (Press-News.org) As it continues to expand operations throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, A/E/P Maguire Group announces new hires to take advantage of the firm's position in the state and municipal architectural, engineering, transportation, and construction services markets.

In the Northeast, Maguire's Transportation unit welcomes Brian P. Guzas, P.E. as a Project Engineer in the Foxborough office. Mr. Guzas has worked for the past decade in the engineering profession and has extensive experience as a structural / bridge engineer. He was formerly with McFarland-Johnson and URS Corporation where he designed steel plate girder / rolled beam highway bridges, foundations for 3-side precast frames, and rehabilitation of a historic wrought iron lenticular truss. With a Masters in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins, Mr. Guzas will bring informed experience to Maguire's current and future transportation efforts.

Maguire's Water Resources unit recently welcomed Robert P. Sims, P.E. as a Project Manager. Mr. Sims has over 25 years of experience and has applied knowledge in the study, design and management of civil and water engineering projects. Based on his wealth of experience as well as his high profile with municipalities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Maguire believes that Mr. Sims will serve the firm well in its mission to grow its Water Resources sector.

Emergency Management Services, a new service line for Maguire shared with sister firm Metric Engineering, brought Amy Grzybowski on board recently as a Senior Program Manager. Prior to joining Maguire, Ms. Grzybowski served as the Grant and Planning Manager for the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA), where she was responsible for over $50 million in federal funding and for providing oversight and guidance on the development, revision and coordination of all agency emergency response plans. Most recently, during the spring 2010 Northeast floods, Ms. Grzybowski served as the Deputy Public Assistance Officer during the recovery process. In her new role with Maguire, she'll pursue new EM Services projects including disaster planning and recovery, debris management, and situational awareness/ readiness.

Maguire's Architectural & Engineering unit welcomes Nicole S. Cuff, P.E., LEED AP as a Principal Mechanical Engineer. She joins Maguire from WSP Flack+Kurtz (formerly SEi Companies), where she had been responsible for engineering preparation and coordination of working drawings, specifications, and maintaining complete project involvement from initial concept through final construction completion. Key past projects include Boston's Fenway Park renovations and the development of the Patriot Place mixed-use lifestyle center that includes retail, medical offices, a museum, and an underground garage.

"We are delighted to welcome these talented new members to the Maguire team," said Maguire Group VP David R. Morrow. "We continue to add staff as a result of our growing client roster and continued loyal customers."
